PROMISE secures funding
PROMISE receives major national funding through excellence initiatives
Precision Omics Initiative Sweden (PROMISE) has been awarded funding through two major national excellence initiatives led by Vinnova and the Swedish Research Council. The funding strengthens Sweden’s long-term capacity in precision medicine and supports continued national coordination in data-driven biomedical research.
PROMISE was selected within Vinnova’s “Cluster of Excellence for Cutting-Edge Technologies” initiative, which supports strategic research environments with strong potential to contribute to future innovation and societal impact. In parallel, the initiative also received support through the Swedish Research Council’s call for network grants for excellence clusters in groundbreaking technologies.
The coordinated funding represents a significant national investment in precision medicine and large-scale omics research. It enables continued development of collaborative structures connecting research institutions, healthcare providers, national infrastructures, and technology platforms across Sweden.
PROMISE focuses on advancing the use of molecular and health data to improve biomedical discovery and support future implementation of precision medicine approaches in healthcare. The initiative brings together expertise in genomics, proteomics, data science, artificial intelligence, and clinical research to build integrated national capabilities for biomedical analysis and innovation.
The support from Vinnova and the Swedish Research Council further strengthens Sweden’s position in precision medicine and reinforces the importance of long-term national collaboration in emerging biomedical technologies.
